Sons of Erikki


The Sons of Erikki are the defenders and law within the Dwarven capital Hammerdrier. They patrol the walls, guard the city and deal with any disorderly conduct. They answer directly to the Dwarven King and no other authorities. They must study with an older member for at least 2 years before being allowed to take the oath of the stone at 3rd level. During their initiation they are led blindfolded down a long spiraling staircase to “the Heart of the Mountain”, a 3’ tall glowing crystal formation, where they swear their lives to Erikki’s cause and the defense of the Dwarven nation and its lasting peace, to put aside clan politics and family disputes for the betterment of all. Many walk away from this process with tales of intense visions and talk of fatherly presences. One young entrant left this ceremony with a hand print tattooed on his shoulder that mysteriously appeared.

The Oath of the Stone
Defense: Like the Stone you swear to put your life at risk in the face of all danger leveled against the Dwarven nation or its peoples.
Reliability: Like the Earth you will always find a way to keep your word and display the highest level of reliability possible.
Compassion: Like the Water you will fill your heart with compassion for the plight of your fellow dwarf. You will seek diplomatic resolutions to your difficulties.
Brotherhood: Like the Forge Fires you will create the everlasting bonds of brotherhood with your companions and take responsibility for their lives. You will never leave another Son behind, nor suffer another Son to have a fate worse than your own.
Forgiveness: Like the Clouds you will release others from guilt and practice forgiveness to all those who cross you. You will harbor no grudges nor seek vengeance for past wrongs.

Oath Spells

3rd Earth tremor, protection from evil and good
5th Maximilian’s Earthen Grasp, Warding Bond
9th Erupting earth, magic circle
13th Stone shape, death ward
17th Wall of stone, Commune

Channel Divinity When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.
Divine Hammer: When you expend a Channel Divinity you summon a war hammer into your hand. This weapon counts as magical force energy for purposes for determining resistances. When using this weapon you add your Charisma modifier instead of your Strength modifier to the damage roll. This hammer lasts for a number of minutes equal to your Paladin level + 1.
Erikki’s Hammer: Damage 1d8 + Charisma modifier (Versatile 1d10)
Skin of Stone: When you expend a Channel Divinity your skin thickens and takes on a stone like hue, your AC becomes 16 + dex. This lasts for one hour.

Earth Heart: At 3rd level, when you take your oath, you gain the cantrip “Mold Earth”.

Brotherhood: At 7th level you can call upon Erikki to give advantage to one of your companions for a number of rounds equal to your Charisma score modifier. You can use this ability once before requiring a short or long rest.

Summon Earthquake: At 15th level you can cast the spell “earthquake” one per day with this ability. You must complete a long rest before using this ability again.

Holy Defender: At 20th level you may call upon Erikki to defend yourself or your companions, when you do all allies within 30’ gain a +4 AC shimmering shield of force that floats around them and lasts for 1 minute per charisma modifier. This requires a long rest to refresh.
